This week I'm driven on a number of projects, Software Freedom Day 2006, Public Access WiFi in Christchurch, Liunx Education Sessions and more WokFry!
The highlight of my week had to be the free root I got from my neighbours for a bit of internet access!
(DISCLAIMER: This is a real student flat, these are not paid actors!)  | | It was about 3pm, I was on the phone and I got a knock on the door and there was a pound of flesh and a free root! I have a bunch of students next door who have become the test platform for our community networking. Tom and I spent a couple of hours running a wire from my server, across the drive and in the window so they now have 24/7 broadband internet access. With a bunch of laptops in the house they can either take turns or connect to the public access wifi node that my house also broadcasts. |  | | The free root and pound of flesh was their way of saying thanks!
