Children and grandchildren heading overseas to live can be heart breaking. 

Some people say that New Zealand has a population of 5 million.  4 million of us live here while the rest are scattered around the globe.

Todays technology saves hearts! 

A webcam and skype is nothing new to many of us who follow these kinds of forums.  It is something new and very exciting to my 7 year old nephew who is heading off to Australia at the end of the month.

 
His grandmother is heart broken that he is leaving and she won't be seeing him every day as he has for most of his life.

Skype, a webcam and a headset are about to become very exciting tools for both grandmonther and grandson. 

For less than $100 we were able to get two laptops up and running with brand new web cams and headsets.

It is exciting to see this technology becoming part of every day life and not just the domain of freaks and geeks.
