Proposal for Southshore PDF Print

At present this information is presented for discussion purpose.

The concept is to delivery a high speed data network to the end of Rocking Horse Road in Christchurch because they have no pratical broadband network access.

Presented in this section are my workings for your comment.

See:  Network Costings and Stats - Spreedsheet showing graphs, costings and notes.

See:  Map of Proposed Network - This map shows an overlay of red rings.  Each ring is a proposed node.  It is 100m wide.  It is proposed that each node would be linked with wireless and by 100mbit UTP cable.  Linking nodes with both wire and wireless improves fault tollorance in the network.

See:  Map of City with Data Link  -  This map gives a general over view of the area with the proposed uplink microwave system path.

See:  Map of the general area  - This map shows the general New Brighton area.  When we complete the first stage satisfactorily the next mission will be to start connecting nodes to the north.

I guess that in posting this information at this point, I'm looking for a bit of peer review.  Are the costings right?  Is there anything really obvious that I've over looked?  Is there a better way to get high speed data to these people?

Cheers Don
